Samantha - Next Model California Pre Teen 2011

Could you tell us a little about yourself.
My name is Samantha Elizondo. I am 11 years old. I am bilingual and a straight 'A' student. I am a singer, model, and a gymnast. I also love to act. My goal is to someday be in the entertainment industry.

When and what got you started doing pageants?
I have always loved watching pageants. I started entering them in 2009. I love being on stage and being proud of myself.

What is your favorite part of pageants?
My favorite part of being in a pageant is wearing my formal gown and performing in the talent portion of the show.

Anything funny happen to you at a pageant?
There are always funny things that happen during pageants. With so many girls there are bound to be funny situations.

What do you like most about pageants?
I love everything about pageants. They are diverse and have so many catagories. It is a hussle bussle kind of event that really gets me going. All of it is so exciting!

Have you competed in pageants before?
Last year I was in the National American Miss pageant. And I have already been selected to compete again this year. I received high marks in all three catagories.

Do you have a platform yet?
I am in to charity events. In May 2011 I sang and did runway at a charity event at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

Do you have Any tips for the potential pageant girls?
If you enter a pageant . . . enjoy it! The first pageant is more of a learning experience. After your first pageant you are ready to go.

I think pageants make you feel proud of yourself. Everyone is beautiful and standing on a stage in a beautiful gown really makes you feel it. I believe every girl out there should enter a pageant at least once in their life. Pageants are not just based on beauty. They have all different catagories which is so wonderful.
