Olenka - Next Model New York Teen 2011

Could you tell us a little about yourself.
I am Olenka Masny. I am 17 years old and I live in Webster, New York.
I already speak 3 languages and I love to volunteer in my community and participate in sports. I play the cello in my school orchestra and the piano in my free time.
Volunteering in my community is exciting and I love to meet all the people along the way. Someone once said, "Some people come into our lives, and quickly go some stay for awhile and leave footprints on our hearts and we are never ever the same." These people that I meet open my eyes and help me be the better person I am becoming
today!

When and what got you started doing pageants?
I began participating in pageants only two years earlier. I have never given them a thought any time before but one of my closest friends competed in National American Miss and said it was the most life changing thing they have ever done. From pageantry I became so much more confident in who I am and my inner beauty as well as
every other girls' inner beauty and that's what I began to love about pageantry and why I still compete today!

What do you like most about pageants?
What I like about pageants is that it's about the inner beauty that matters most. I love how girls gain confidence that they need in life and the fact that they become so much more active in their community because of pageantry. Prior to pageants, I had the opportunity to help out my community. But ever since I began competing in pageants, more openings for me to help my community crossed my path and it encourages girls from all over who look up to me and other girls who compete in pageants and then those girls begin to help out their community as well!

What do you want to be when you grow up?
When I grow up, I want to be a lawyer! I want to be a lawyer because my childhood revolved around lawyers due to family matters. But the job of a lawyer opened my eyes to how they can help people and that really inspires me and I look up to that. Also, law is a very interesting subject to me as well as public speaking, and participating in pageants has helped me excel in my public speaking and confidence.

Why would you like to be Queen for your state?
I would like to be queen not only because i know it would be lots of fun for my family and i, but also because i would love to get the chance to meet new friends along with continuing to enhancing my special talents and abilities with pageants, while once again making my family very proud!

I would like to thank my family and friends for supporting me in what I love to do and letting me have this opportunity! Without them, I wouldn't be where I am today and I am so great full for every opportunity and I believe that I am truly blessed. A high honor student from Webster, New York, I am Olenka Masny.
